“Semarang Multinational School teachers are teaching students about life, for example, morality and manners, more than other schools. So it’s not only about theory, but we think it’s also important to learn about those habits” ~Fanny Liem and Han Siang

“My name is Savira Happy Kartika, i am from Semarang, Indonesia and i am an alumni of Semarang Multinational School who graduated on the year 2010. I started my studies in SMS when i was 4 years old that was the year 2003, i started in the infant class. Right now i’m in my first semester in my university in Semarang taking medical as my degree. I had a really great experience in SMS, I started with no skill of the english language and it was a foreign language for me. It was my first time being exposed to an environment full of english speaking students and several foreigners. That time i had no idea what my friends were speaking because i had no idea what the language “English” was. At first it was difficult to adapt to this environment and i struggled to communicate because this school was an english speaking zone. It was pretty difficult for me to handle at first, i was upset and had no idea what was going on. Throughout the years when i had no to few english vocabularies my teachers always guided me, help and are always there by my side to help me to learn English. Slowly i learned and the better i get. Now i am really fluent in English thanks to Semarang Multinational School and i’m really glad and thankful that this school has taught me so much. The events were wonderful, classes were exciting, i learned bunch of interesting topics from around the world, the friends are nice and also the teachers were always there to guide you and help you. I had wonderful activities and experience with Semarang Multinational School.” ~Savira Happy Kartika

“I previously studied in this school for over 5 years, and had many lovely experiences. I have always remembered the staff being nothing less than amazing and warm hearted. After leaving this school, and now currently attending university overseas, it was quite surreal visiting this school again. I must say that there have been numerous significant (and definitely positive) improvements. In other words, it would be of no surprise for this school to continue to grow and flourish. Today, I saw familiar faces greeting me with open arms as I entered the school grounds, one of them being the famous Ms Betty. The atmosphere of the school was very cheerful and inviting, unlike most schools that come off as daunting. Schools ought to be a place where students are not only encouraged to learn, but should also be a place for students to feel safe and welcomed. This school, not surprisingly, upholds these values evidently.” ~Natasha Almanda Busono

“Semarang Multinational School is not just ordinary school. It builds community, a great bond between students-parents-teachers-and other staff that involve within. I have never seen a school with a strong connection on each level as good as SMS. Beside, i found that my children has developed an admirable confidence, creativity, and independency during their toddler years.” ~Maudy Wibowo

“It gives me great contentment to say with pride that I completed by elementary education in Semarang Multinational School. One of my vivid memories would be; me always crying as I enter the 1 st grade classroom every single day for the first few months purely due to the fact that I was afraid of my teacher Mr. Scott (who was genuinely the most caring teacher at the time). But as I walk into that classroom every morning I was greeted with sweet parents, who introduced me into the warm and loving environment SMS offers. Later on, I learnt to enjoy going to school. I am very grateful to have been taught by such culturally diverse, open minded and intellectual teachers who really cared about their students’ well-being. They did their best integrating learning with fun. It was my English proficiency that I gained from SMS that gave me a head start on my English language skills as I moved to a secondary school. I am now 18 years old and off to University, I must admit, I have not seen a school as family-like as SMS. The cooperative interaction between students, teachers, parents and staff is unlike any other educational institution. I hope SMS will continue thriving to provide this distinct learning environment to many more prospective students. ” ~ Dixie De Winne
